Child Safety Standards
Our zero-tolerance commitment to preventing child sexual abuse and exploitation on Walima.
Protecting children is non-negotiable.
Walima (“the App”), operated by Walima LLC, a limited liability company registered in Wyoming, United States (“we”, “us”, “our”), is a Muslim matrimony and matchmaking service intended solely for adults seeking marriage. We have a zero-tolerance policy toward child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) and child sexual abuse material (CSAM). These standards apply to every user and to all content and conduct on the App, and they supplement our Community Guidelines, Terms of Service, and Privacy Policy.
Adults only
Walima is for users aged 18 and older. Accounts may only be created and used by adults, and our registration process and app-store age-gating are designed to prevent access by minors. We do not knowingly permit anyone under 18 to register or use the App, and any account found to belong to a minor is removed.
Zero tolerance for CSAE and CSAM
We strictly prohibit, and take action against, any content, communication, or conduct that sexually exploits, abuses, or endangers children, including but not limited to:
- creating, sharing, soliciting, or promoting child sexual abuse material (CSAM);
- grooming, sextortion, or trafficking of a minor;
- any attempt to use the App to contact, sexualize, or exploit a child;
- any other content or behavior that violates child protection laws.
Reporting (in-app and by email)
Any user can report inappropriate, harmful, or illegal content or behavior — including suspected CSAE or CSAM — directly within the App using the Report button available on any profile or chat conversation. Reports can also be sent to childsafety@walima.app. Reports involving child safety are prioritized for urgent review.
Action on CSAM
When we obtain actual knowledge of CSAM, we act promptly to:
- remove the content and preserve relevant evidence as required by law;
- permanently ban the account(s) involved;
- report confirmed CSAM to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and/or the relevant regional authority, in accordance with applicable law.
Compliance with law
We comply with applicable child safety laws and regulations, including United States federal law, and maintain a process to report confirmed CSAM to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) or the appropriate regional authority. We align our practices with recognized industry standards, including the Tech Coalition’s best practices for combating online child sexual exploitation and abuse.
